Curriculum Vitae:

Giuseppe (Pino) Guzzetta graduated at the University of Naples "Federico II", Italy. Holding a postdoctoral fellowship, he made his initial experience in experimental rock mechanics in the laboratory of Fred A. Donath at the Columbia University, USA (in the late '60s of the past century). First as lecturer and then as professor he taught Structural Geology at the University of Naples (and occasionally abroad) until his retirement in 2003. His research topics were mostly related with the physics of deformation
Firmly convinced that, due to their privileged point of view, geologists may have a special voice in the improvement of the knowledge on this subject, he is still actively entangled in the theoretical study of the behavior of deformable actual materials.
