    Abstract:

Since 1950 when the author began studying electron-transfer reactions it has been a long journey with many adventures. In this presentation a history of these adventures will be described including the role of surrounding solvent molecules in the rate of redox reactions—oxidation/reduction reactions and the parabola description of the relationship between the driving force of an electron-transfer reaction and the reaction’s rate as well as the recent developments.
