    ABSTRACT:
After a brief introduction of the current status of gradient theory and its implications to elasticity, plasticity and diffusion, a discussion on applications to Mg alloys is provided. An effort is made to focus on the novel Mg alloy discovered by Professor Kawamura and the projects LPSO & FRAMED.
