Short Bio:

Education: 1984 MSc University of Bucharest, Faculty of Physics, Applied Physics, Semiconductor Materials; 1995 PhD Institute of Atomic Physics, Bucharest, Romania; ceramic materials for pyroelectric detection of IR. Carreer path: 1984-1987: physicist, Giurgiu Chemical Plant; 1987-present, researcher at the National Institute of Materials Physics (NIMP), Magurele, Romania; 1997-2004, head of Laboratory (Semiconductor Physics and Complex Heterostructures); 2001-2003, 14 months visiting scientist at the Institute for Crystal Growth, Berlin, Germany; 2003-2007, visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute, Halle, Germany; 2008-2013, General Director of NIMP; 2013-2016 Head of Multifunctional Materials and Structures Laboratory at NIMP; 2016-present Scientific Director of NIMP. Professional experience: ferroelectric ceramics and thin films, electrical characterization; artificial multiferroics; photoelectric and photovoltaic properties in thin films and complex heterostructures; structures for field effect devices; materials for UV and IR detection. Fellowships and awards: 2000-Excellence Award in Research, National Agency for Research and Technology, Romania; 2002-2003: one year NATO fellow at Department of Physics, University Do Minho, Braga Portugal; 2009-Romanian Academy award for Physics-Dragomir Hurmuzescu Membership: 1995-present: member of the Romanian Society of Crystal Growth-Materials Science, affiliated to International Organisation of Crystal Growth; 2010-present: member of the Romanian Society of Physics and of the European Society of Physics. Project management: director, co-director or responsible of 16 international and national project, about 20 million euro. Overview of publicatons: over 200 publishe articles, over 3000 citations (self citations excluded), h = 32 (on Web of Science); h=38 (on Google Scholar).
