Short Bio:

Dr Jean-Claude GRENIER, is currently Emeritus Research Director of CNRS, former head of the Solid Oxide Fuel Cell group at I.C.M.C.B – CNRS, in the University of Bordeaux (France). He has been involved for more than 45 years in research on physical properties of oxides (non-stoichiometry, structural and transport properties (superconductivity for instance). During the last 20 years, he has being interested in mixed ionic and electronic conducting ionic oxides, especially in those showing good electrocatalytic performances as oxygen electrodes for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (anionic or protonic electrolytes) and electrolysers as well. He has published over 280 papers and is holder of 10 patents in these fields. He has been the scientific manager of several European projects and French ones, as well. He is now more especially involved in the development of cathode materials for Metal Supported Fuel Cells. J-C Grenier was the founding father of the French SOFC Network in 2001 and member of several committees of the French Research National Agency. In 2005, he was awarded the Grand Prix of the Académie des Sciences for outstanding research work in the field of SOFC.
