Short Bio:

Roberto Paolesse graduated cum laude in Chemistry at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” on 1983. He started his academic career at the Department of Chemical Science and Technologies of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" in 1986 as Assistant Professor. Since 2012 he is Full Professor of Chemistry at the same Department. He has been responsible of several National and European research projects, and he is now the coordinator of the FET-OPEN project INITIO within the Horizon2020 EU program. Roberto Paolesse authored more than 400 articles on international journals, six patents and edited two books. His papers received more than 13000 citations with a H-index = 60 (source SCOPUS, March 2023). The following topics can describe his research interests: • Synthesis and reactivity of metal complexes of porphyrins and related macrocycles. • Thin film deposition of organic materials. • Development of porphyrin-based chemical sensors. • Development and application of artificial sensorial systems (E-nose and E-tongue). • Study of the opto-electronic properties of porphyrin and related macrocycle thin films He is co-director of the Sensors Group of the University of Rome Tor Vergata (http://sensorsgroup.uniroma2.it)
