CURRENCY:
The national currency in Panama is the Panamanian Balboa, however, the U.S dollar is equivalent in value and of common distribution. You can freely use US dollars in any transaction without the need to exchange to Balboa.

There are various places to exchange money at the airport and ATMs are also available.

ELECTRICITY:
Panama uses 120V and 60 Hz. Plugs are typically the 2-pronged flat type so US travelers will not typically need a plug adapter (unless your device requires 3 prongs). Check the labels on your appliances. If they state 'INPUT: 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz', you can safely plug in your appliances anywhere without worrying about voltage conversion. This is very common for laptops, cameras, cellphone chargers, etc.
