Publications: 455 scientific articles, 143 editorials, 51 monographs, 13 textbooks, 166 patents, 549 articles on the popularization of science and over 491 presentations and conference materials.
Research interests: chemical kinetics and catalysis; physico-chemical mechanisms of redox processes with electron transfer; ecological and environmental chemistry; self-purification processes of natural waters; water purification technologies.
During the activity:
- gave lectures on physical chemistry, chemical technology, ecological chemistry, kinetics and thermodynamics of ecological systems;
- taught at universities in Moldova (Chisinau, Balti, Comrat, Cahul), Italy (Rome, Turin), USA (Texas, California), China (Chengdu), Switzerland (Zurich), Hungary (Budapest), Czech Republic (Prague) , Romania (Iasi, Timisoara, Oradea, Alba Iulia, Cluj, Bucharest);
- trained 35 doctors and habilitated doctors in sciences;
- established the Department of Industrial and Ecological Chemistry (1992), Research Center for Applied and Ecological Chemistry, (1992), Faculty of Ecology, International University of Moldova (1992), Research Center for Physical and Inorganic Chemistry (2006), High School for Talented Children (2007), University of the Academy of Sciences (2007), Terra Nostra Non-Governmental Organization (1992), Moldovan Scientific Research Association, MRDA (2000), etc.
- founded the Journals: "Environment" (2002), "Journal of Chemistry of Moldova" (2005), "Academos" (2005);
- has organized numerous international scientific conferences in the field of ecological chemistry (1985, 1995, 2002, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2017, 2022) and on joint management of science, education and innovation with Sichuan University in Chengdu, China (2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021).
