Dr. Florian Kongoli holds 3 degrees: a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science/University of Montreal, Canada and a Doctor of Science Degree/Tohoku University, Japan. Since 1996 he is CEO of FLOGEN Technologies Inc.,(www.flogen.com) a Sustainable High Tech applied research institute
incorporated in Canada and USA that today have offices and representations in more than 15 Countries around the the world while carrying out high tech projects in more than 40 countries.

Since 2007 he is Chairman of FLOGEN STAR OUTREACH (www.flogen.org), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to (1) achieving sustainability through science and technology, (2) raising the profile of science and engineering in the society and (3) properly honoring scientists and engineers.

Since 2003 Dr Kongoli has been President of the Organizing Committee of the Sustainable Industrial Processing Summits (SIPS) held every year in several countries around the world with an average participation of 500 authors from academia, industry, government and the entrepreneurship world representing an average of 80 countries.

Dr Kongoli has about 25 years of rich scientific and applied technology experience through direct involvement in numerous invited engagements in all continents. He has managed, involved, or actively participated in about 200 projects, 40 types of reactors, 10 industries, in 45 countries and in 6 continents. Dr. Kongoli has published 113 books and more than 200 scientific articles. He has delivered in numerous countries around the world about 220 plenary, keynote and invited presentations as well as articles, technical reports and research presentations. He has served in many leadership positions in national and international organizations and in many Professional Award Councils such as the Industrial Achievement Award Committee of International Federation of Automatic Control. He is Editorial Board member of several International Journals.

He is an elected Honorary Member of the Lorraine Academy of Sciences and Elected Member of Euro Mediterranean Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was awarded in 2017 the title "The Environmental Tech CEO of the year 2017" by CEO-Monthly UK magazine. He was awarded Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his contribution toward sustainable development through FLOGEN Sustainability Framework by Tomas Bata University in Zlin (Czech Republic)/Faculty of Applied Informatics. He is honorary Citizen of Rio de Janeiro and Laureate of Gold Medal of the City of Nancy, France. In 2022 he was honored by the Congressman elect of Rio de Janeiro State, Alan Lopes, who will propose to the State Congress to adopt FLOGEN Sustainability Framework developed by Dr. Florian Kongoli in the state law for evaluating any proposed public or private project in the state. Also, in 2022 he was invited to give the Opening Sustainability Plenary Lecture at the United Nation Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on 11 February 2022 about FLOGEN Sustainability Framework at the International Year of Glass 2022.

He has participated in business and government delegations in numerous countries accompanying Prime Ministers, Ministers and other government officials.

BIO of Paulo Assis

Paulo Santos Assis; Born in Rio Espera, Brazil, 18/03/1953
Metallurgical Engineer; M.Sc, Dr-Ing.
He holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1975), a Gold Medal “Alcindo Vieira Prize”, a Master's Degree in Metallurgical and Mining Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1978) and a PhD in Metallurgy from Rheinisch-Westfalische Technische Hochschule / Aachen (1991). He worked as a researcher at Acesita (now APERAM) from 1975 to 1984, as researcher and Head of Technical Steel Service at Mannesmann (now Vallourec) from 1984 to 1993. He collaborated at the Federal Fluminense University, as Visiting Professor, in Volta Redonda between 1993 and 1995 in the implementation of the Steel Excellence program through of his graduate program in metallurgy. He was advisor to CA-TEC: Engineering and Architecture Chamber of the Research Support Foundation of the State of Minas Gerais between 2001 and 2005 and Director of the Minas Gerais regional of the Brazilian Association of Metallurgy and Materials from 1996 to 2001. He was awarded three times in the Student Contest in the USA in 2009 in St Louis for the third best contribution in this section and in 2011 in Indianapolis for the second best contribution also in the same section and in 2014 in Indianapolis for the third best contribution in the area of biomass. He has coordinated more than 60 research and development projects and presented more than 240 technical contributions to national and international seminars, national and international indexed journals. He has been awarded six times in papers presented by his excellency in Brazil, respectively in 1995, 1996, 2008, 2010, 2013 and 2017, for papers; in the area of iron ore, blast furnace, energy, innovation and the environment. He has been a Full Professor at the Federal University of Ouro Preto since 1994, Honorary Professor at Hebei Technology University, Tangshan (China). Permanent Professor of REDEMAT (UEMG / UFOP) since 1996, besides being a researcher in Energy, Iron and Steel Manufacturing, Environment and Quality. Researcher at CNPq. He has experience in the area of Materials Engineering and Metallurgy, with emphasis on Extractive Metallurgy, working mainly in the following topics: steel industry: reduction and refining, injection of pulverized materials, development of new materials, environment, projects for quality improvement and increase productivity. Member of the board of EcoEnviroX. Reviewer of Technology in Metallurgy, Materials and MIneração Journal. Associate Editor of REM. Ad-hoc advisor at USP: Escola Politécnica. Coordinator of the Nucleus of Steel, Energy and Environment of the School of Mines of UFOP. Director of ABM: Brazilian Association of Metallurgy, Mining and Materials, 2013. Member of the Board of ABM, 2015 and 2017. President of the board of REDEMAT (2013-2017). Expert assistant in legal and administrative processes of the state and the federal government, in its area of competence. Participated in teacher selection competitions of USP, UFRGS, UFOP and CEFET-MG, University in Australia and in India (Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore). Status: January 2019.

BIO of Henry Alonso Colorado Lopera

Henry Colorado is a Full Professor in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Departments from the Universidad de Antioquia at Medellin, Colombia. He is also affiliated in the Materials Department from the State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and has been a Visitor Professor in Military Institute of Engineering. Currently he is a Fulbright Visitor Scholar in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of California San Diego. His main areas of research are Composite Materials, Natural Fibers, Green Materials, and Additive Manufacturing. He also works in active learning. Henry obtained a BS and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2005; and MSc and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California Los Angeles in 2010 and 2013 respectively. Henry has active collaborations in several institutions in Brazil, Chile, China, and USA. He is also working as Associate Editor for the journals Heliyon, Engineered Science, and ES Materials & Manufacturing; and Editorial Board for Advanced Composites and Hybrid Materials, and for the American Ceramics Society Bulletin (2023-2026). He is also a Global Ambassador for the American Ceramics Society.

BIO of Susana Diaz

Susana has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1982), a master's degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Program (PEMM) at the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Engineering Research (COPPE), part of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, UFRJ (1988). She holds a PhD in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from PEMM/COPPE/UFRJ (2003). In 1986 she became a researcher at PEMM / COPPE / UFRJ, working in the area of electrochemistry and corrosion. She is currently a researcher at the Non-Destructive Testing and Corrosion Laboratory (LNDC/COPPE/UFRJ). She has experience in the area of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, with an emphasis on Electrochemistry and Corrosion, working mainly on the topics of electrodeposition of metals and their alloys, corrosion inhibitors corrosion and corrosion in the petroleum industry in the presence of CO2 and H2S. Since 2020 she has been Co-Editor of the Journal of Materials Research and Technology, JMRT (IF = 6.4), an Elsevier publication.

Adjunct Professor at the Materials Engineering Faculty of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) since 2016. Professor in the Graduate Program in Natural Resources Engineering of the Amazon (PRODERNA/ITEC/UFPA). Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Materials Science and Engineering (PPGCEM) since 2020. Member of the intellectual property evaluation and patents council of UFPA, linked to the Technological Innovation Agency - UNIVERSITEC. Coordinator of the Technological Practices laboratory at UFPA. Coordinator of the Biomaterials research group and the research group on Composite Materials Reinforced with Lignocellulosic Fibers. Associate member of the Brazilian Association of Metallurgy, Materials, and Mining (ABM) since 2012. CNPq level 2 researcher. Her research has been published in internationally renowned scientific journals, and in 2019, she received the award for best scientific work in the area of polymeric, ceramic, and composite materials at the international congress of the Brazilian Association of Metallurgy, Materials, and Mining.
