Short Bio:
Viktor Shumskiy (59 years old) graduated from Tomsk Technical University (Russia) with Diploma of Engineer-Physicist. Viktor is PhD in Metallurgy, Correspondent Member of International Engineering Academy and National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At present, Viktor Shumskiy is Scientific Deputy Director and Head of Metallurgy Department of the Eastern Mining and Metallurgical Research Institute for Non-Ferrous Metals “VNIItsvetmet” (Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan).
Viktor Shumskiy is scientist-metallurgist well-known in Kazakhstan and in some other countries. He is one of the inventors of oxygen flash smelting process for lead raw materials, which is known as KIVCET Process. Viktor participated in introduction of KIVCET Process in 5 lead plants (in Kazakhstan, Italy, Canada and 2 plants in China).
Viktor Shumskiy is the author of 130 publications, including 2 Monographs and 27 Patents granted in 14 countries, including Australia, Brazil, India, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Finland, Germany, France, Italy, and Sweden. Most of the Patents relate to inventions concerning processing of lead-bearing raw materials by means of KIVCET Process. Besides, he prepared Monograph “THEORETICAL QUESTIONS IN THE TREATMENT
OF LEAD-BEARING RAW MATERIALS BY THE KIVCET PROCESS” and published it Russian. All operating KIVCET plants use the Monograph translated into English.
Viktor cooperates extensively with the Eastern-Kazakhstan State Technical University. He is a Chairman of State Examination Commission of the University. The Commission carries out State Graduation Examination and evaluates Graduation Projects for Bachelor Degree in Metallurgy. Besides, he is the Reviewer Master's Theses.
