Short Bio:
Julian Ledieu has received his PhD from The University of Liverpool in 2001 for his work on the five-fold surface of the i-Al-Pd-Mn quasicrystal. Following a post-doctorate position at the Surface Science Research Centre (Liverpool), he has been appointed as a research scientist at the CNRS in Nancy (France) in 2005. His current main research activities at the Institut Jean Lamour are the determination of the electronic and crystallographic structures of complex metallic alloy surfaces. He is also investigating the growth of pseudomorphic overlayer on periodic and aperiodic templates and characterizing their associated physical and chemical properties. His latest research focuses on the exploration of ternary system aiming to discover new complex intermetallic compounds with novel chemical and physical properties. He has (co-) authored around 100 publications.
