Ayman Hawari

Short Bio:

Dr. Ayman Hawari is a Professor of Nuclear Engineering, Affiliated Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, and Director of the Nuclear Reactor Program at North Carolina State University (NCSU). He has extensive experience that covers non-power nuclear reactors, advanced nuclear power reactors, and fundamental studies in the field of radiation interactions and measurements. He is known for pioneering a modern approach, which integrates atomistic simulations methods with thermal neutron scattering theory, for calculating the thermal neutron scattering law of materials. He has served as an expert and consultant for various national and international entities. He has over 140 peer reviewed publications and has delivered many invited lectures at national and international meetings. In 2007, Professor Hawari was awarded the NCSU College of Engineering ALCOA Foundation Engineering Research Achievement award. In 2014, he was awarded the rank of Fellow of the American Nuclear Society.
