Mr. Dimas Coura

Dimas Coura

Dimas Pereira Coura was born in São Paulo and currently lives in the state of Minas Gerais. He has a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the Universidade Presidente Antônio Carlos (2019) and was awarded the Presidente Antônio Carlos medal as the best performer during the course. He also has a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto in the area of thermal and fluids (2021) and is a PhD student in Materials Engineering at the Federal University of Ouro Preto (2026). He also works at the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG) in the city of Ouro Branco as a lecturer of renewable energy and photovoltaic generation, as well as of Fundamentals of Solar Energy and its Generation Systems.

He also works in the private steel making sector in the city of Ouro Branco/MG in energy management and planning.

In the field of renewable energy his main projects are in the areas of photovoltaics for electricity generation and the generation of green hydrogen for the use in thermoelectric power plants.

He has participated in various ABM congresses (2019, 2021 and 2023) and has presented his research on solar power generation and energy efficiency in thermoelectric plants.

His recent work has been on the use of corn and bamboo biomass for steam generation in integrated steel plants.
