Professor Olga Pechanova is the Head of Department of Neuro-Cardiovascular Interactions, Institute of Normal and Pathological Physiology of Centre of Experimental Medicine, Slovak Academy of Sciences (CEM SAS) and Past President of International Society for Pathophysiology. She has 30-year experiences in the cardiovascular research and development of medications aimed to treat hypertension and cardiovascular consequences. Her study is focused on the analysis of imbalance in the production of nitric oxide and reactive oxygen species in different models of cardiovascular and metabolic disorders. Olga Pechanova has authored about 170 impacted manuscripts, 1 patent, and she is co-author of several monographs, H-index 43. Olga Pechanova is a lecturer at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medical Faculty, Comenius University, Bratislava and Visiting Professor at "Victor Babes" University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timisoara, Romania and University of Kragujevac, Serbia. She leads/led numerous international and national projects and 13 PhD students. Olga Pechanova is a member of Editorial Board of 7 international journals, member of the Executive Committee of European Council of Cardiovascular Research, European Academy of Science and Art, Slovak Physiological Society and others. She organized several national and international congresses, including the 8th World Congress of International Society for Pathophysiology in 2018. She was awarded by Golden medal for excellent team leadership in Slovak Academy of Sciences and nominated for Slovak Women of the Year 2021.
