Rodrigo Alvarenga Vilela wins FLOGEN 2023 Yildirim International Entrepreneurship Award
Following in the footsteps of other FLOGEN Award recipients who have subsequently achieved further recognition, Mr. Rodrigo Alvarenga Vilela, CEO of Samarco, has received the 2026 President Juscelino Kubitschek Medal.
Granted by the State of Minas Gerais, this prestigious distinction honors individuals whose careers and achievements have contributed significantly to the development of Minas Gerais and Brazil. A native of Minas Gerais and a metallurgical engineer trained at the Federal University of Ouro Preto, Mr. Vilela has dedicated more than 30 years to the mining industry.
Mr. Vilela received the Yildirim International Entrepreneurship Award at FLOGEN SIPS 2023 in recognition of his leadership, entrepreneurship, and commitment to sustainable mining. This latest honor further recognizes his outstanding professional journey and his continued contribution to the mining sector and Brazilian society.
