Following the footsteps of other FLOGEN award recipients who have subsequently achieved further recognition, Professor Dan Shechtman, was awarded in November/December 2018 an Honorary Doctorate from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for his outstanding achievements in the field of quasicrystals. During the ceremony were present the ambassadors of USA, Israel and India as well as the General Consuls of Germany and Russia in Greece.
